For the last three months we have been involved in a home improvement project. Helping our friend prepare her home for resale. This is a pretty big project for an average homeowner and can be quite overwhelming for someone who is not used to handling projects.
This is where our friend was when we decided to come along side her and help her get this done. I was super happy I developed our Home Improvement Binder for home improvement projects.
We have used the binder to help us plan, organize, track cost and execute all the work for this project. It has been awesome! I haven’t found a thing I would change yet.
The budget worksheets for each room worked like a champ. The tools we would normally use to do project management work would be completely overkill. So, developing this tool was the right decision and saved me a ton of time!
Make sure if you download the binder that you refer back to our blog Conquer and Crush Your DIY Projects Using Our Home Improvement Binder – oh and we are Conquering and Crush’n this project!!!
Here are some of the projects we are currently working.
We replaced the old crown shelf mantle with a new rustic mantle and will be adding shelves that are similar to each side of the fireplace that will be custom fit. The mantle cost a whopping $30 dollars in material that we bought from Home Depot.
If your interested in a free drawing download let me know in the comment section and we will do an upcoming post with the drawing.
We will also be adding a sitting area to the left side of the fireplace and the TV will be to on the right. Making the fireplace the focal point of the room.
I am thinking about adding some corbels to the fireplace mantle. Something like this. What do you think? Let me know if you think I should add them in the comment section. Look below for some mantle’s with corbels for examples.
I personally love the corbels!
Here is an example of the seating on each side of the fireplace. There is no window in the makeover we are doing so we will be adding custom shelving.
Here are a few things we are looking at for inspiration for the entryway
I would love to do something similar to the table.
I would love to use this cart table in living room and repurpose these cute end tables a little paint goes a long way
This is just one room we are doing a makeover on. I will post updates as we move forward.
Until Next Time – Keep Crush’n It!
P.S. Remember to leave your opinion on the mantle corbels in the comment section below!
